- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
- Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Prepare the Meat Sauce: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or sausage until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if needed. Stir in the marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes. Set aside.
Make the Ricotta Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.
