Ingredients

Scale

For the Pork:

  • 4 boneless pork chops or 1 lb pork tenderloin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or vegetable oil

For the Glaze:

  • ¼ cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • Optional: ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (for a hint of heat)

For Garnish:

  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Pork:

  1. Season the pork chops or tenderloin generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork and sear for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove the pork from the skillet and set aside.

2. Make the Glaze:

  1. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the honey, soy sauce, vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and optional red pepper flakes. Stir to combine and let the mixture simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.

3. Glaze the Pork:

  1. Return the pork to the skillet, turning to coat evenly in the glaze. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, spooning the glaze over the pork occasionally, until the pork is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).

4. Rest and Serve:

  1. Remove the pork from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes. Slice the tenderloin or serve the chops whole.
  2. Drizzle any remaining glaze over the pork and garnish with fresh parsley and sesame seeds if desired.

5. Enjoy:

  1. Serve hot with steamed rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables for a comforting and flavorful dinner.
