Description

Cranberry Pecan Cheese Balls are a delightful and festive appetizer perfect for gatherings, especially during the holiday season. This recipe combines the creamy texture of cheese with the sweetness of cranberries and the crunch of pecans, creating a delicious spread that pairs beautifully with crackers. Here’s how to make this easy yet impressive dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup dried cranberries, roughly chopped, divided
  • 1 cup pecans, finely chopped, divided
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped, divided
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Crackers for serving

Instructions

  1. Mix the Cheese: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and shredded white cheddar using a hand mixer or stand mixer until smooth and creamy.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Add ½ cup of chopped dried cranberries, ½ cup of finely chopped pecans, 1 tablespoon of chives, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the Cheese Ball: Lay out a piece of plastic wrap (about 10×10 inches). Transfer the cheese mixture onto the center of the plastic wrap. Using greased hands, form the mixture into a ball shape and wrap it tightly in the plastic wrap. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to firm up.
  4. Prepare Coating: On a plate, combine the remaining cranberries, pecans, and chives.
  5. Coat the Cheese Ball: After chilling, remove the cheese ball from the refrigerator and unwrap it. Roll the cheese ball in the mixture of remaining cranberries, pecans, and chives until fully coated.
  6. Serve: Let the cheese ball sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before serving. Serve with an assortment of crackers.
