Description

A comforting and creamy side dish featuring tender green beans, a rich mushroom sauce, and crispy fried onions. This classic casserole is perfect for holiday gatherings or family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp soy sauce (optional)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 4 cups cooked green beans (or 2 cans, drained and rinsed)
  • 1 ⅓ cups French-fried onions, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 1 ½-quart casserole dish.
  2. Prepare the sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce (if using), and black pepper. Stir until smooth.
  3. Mix the ingredients: Add the cooked green beans to the sauce mixture and stir until the beans are evenly coated. Transfer the mixture to the prepared casserole dish.
  4. Add topping: Sprinkle ⅔ cup of French-fried onions evenly over the top of the casserole.
  5. Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes, or until it’s hot and bubbling.
  6. Final touch: Remove the casserole from the oven and top with the remaining ⅔ cup of French-fried onions. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to crisp up the onions.
  7. Serve: Let the casserole cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
